Happy New Year!

¡Feliz Año Nuevo!

I'm sure you all have some New Year's resolutions and so do I. The most important are studying everyday after work during the next 6 months (so I will have some spare time for stitching during the weekends and something to show on the blog too) and writing on the blog more often. What are yours?

Estoy segura de que todos tenéis algunos propósitos de Año Nuevo y cómo no, yo también tengo los míos. Los más importantes son estudiar todos los días después del trabajo durante los próximos 6 meses (así tendré algo de tiempo libre para hacer punto de cruz los fines de semana y también algo que enseñar en el blog) y escribir en el blog más a menudo. ¿Cuáles son los vuestros?

Now I'm thinking about learning how to crochet or knit, but that would be in July when I have taken (and passed -fingers crossed-) all my exams.

Ahora estoy pensando en aprender a hacer ganchillo o a tejer, pero eso será en Julio cuando haya hecho (y aprobado -dedos cruzados-) todos mis exámenes.

Thank's a lot McKenna!! I could finally stitch snowman's eyes with your recommendation: colonial knots, better for me than french knots.

Muchas gracias McKenna!! Al final pude hacer los ojos del muñeco de nieve con tu recomendación: nudos coloniales, mejores para mí que los nudos franceses.

I stitched a fabric with a Christmas print on the backing... (do you like my glitter nail polish?)

Cosí una tela con motivos navideños en la parte trasera... (¿os gusta mi pintauñas de purpurina?)

My prize - Mi premio

Do you remember I told you I was selected as the first runner-up at DMC Easter Egg Challenge? Well, my prize arrived last week and here you are the photos:

Os acordías que os conté que fui seleccionada como primera finalista en el concurso de DMC Easter Egg Challenge? Pues bien, mi premio llegó la semana pasada y aquí tenéis las fotos:

As you see, there are 8 skeins from their new Satin Floss Radiant Treasures Collection. As my camera is not very good you cannot appreciate the brightness and the colorful of the threads, and they are very very very soft, can't wait to start using them!

Como véis, son 8 madejas de sus nuevos Hilos Satén de la colección Radiant Treasures. Como mi cámara no es muy buena no se puede apreciar el brillo y el colorido de los hilos, por no hablar de lo suaves que son, ya tengo ganas de usarlos!

DMC EASTER EGG CONTEST

Several posts ago I told you that I was going to take place in the DMC contest: Easter Egg Challenge, do you remember? Well, last week they published the winners and I've been selected as the first runner-up! Now I'm waiting impatiently the postman arrives with my prize!!

Hace varios posts os dije que iba a participar en el Concurso de DMC: Easter Egg Challenge, os acordáis? Pues bien, la semana pasada publicaron los ganadores y he sido seleccionada como la primera finalista! Ahora estoy esperando impaciente a que llegue el cartero con mi premio!!

Lot of things

I have finished my Star Wars project but, unfortunately, I can't show it to you yet because I washed it and I do the ironing on Sunday.

Ya he terminado mi proyecto de Star Wars pero, desafortunadamente, no puedo enseñároslo porque lo lavé y lo plancharé el Domingo.


This week I am working in several projects:

- I am making a pair of Gingerbread Man brooches for an order.
- I am designing an Easter Egg for the DMC contest: Easter Egg Challenge.
- And I am thinking of covering with fabric a metallic box and a plastic one. I am not sure about doing this because I've seen how to cover wood boxes or making cardboard boxes but I don't know if this technique can be applied to metal or plastic. Anyone has tried it?
